Buckingham Palace Premiere

Richard's orchestration of a song by Albert, Prince Consort, has been premiered at Buckingham Palace by soprano Louise Alder and the RCM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the acclaimed John Wilson.

Last year, he was asked by Clarence House to orchestrate three songs by Albert, Prince Consort. Yesterday evening, the world premiere of the first of these songs, Ein Standchen, was given by renowned soprano Louise Alder accompanied by the RCM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by John Wilson. The performance, which took place as part of a Royal Gala at Buckingham Palace celebrating the Royal College of Music, was given in the presence of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales who said that the piece was "brilliantly orchestrated".

The rehearsal was video recorded and can be found on this Classic FM news story.

An excerpt of the piece can be viewed here. If you are interested in hiring the work (and perhaps giving the world premiere performances of the other two songs), please fill in the contact form here.
